H-Beam Laser Cutting Machine Price: What Sets the Cost
The price of an H-beam laser cutting machine is set mainly by laser power (12, 20 or 30 kW), the laser source brand, the largest section and the bed length. Running costs are power, gas and consumables, and the payback comes from fewer stations, less rework and no tail-end scrap.
At a glance
- Power, source brand, section range and bed length set most of the price.
- Software and the 5-axis cutting principle are shared across power levels.
- Running costs: electricity, assist gas, nozzles and lenses.
- Payback: fewer stations, less grinding, no tail, faster fit-up.

What sets the machine price
| Factor | Options | Effect on price |
|---|---|---|
| Laser power | 12, 20 or 30 kW | The largest single item; higher power costs more |
| Laser source brand | Maxphotonics standard; Raycus or IPG on request | Imported sources cost more |
| Section range | Up to 1,000 mm standard; larger on request | Larger sections need a bigger gantry and bed |
| Bed length | 12 m effective cutting length standard | Longer beds add bed sections and travel |
| Handling | Manual or crane loading; material handling to suit your shop | More automation costs more but saves labor |
| Software | DSTV, IGES and STEP import | Included with the controller |
The bed design, the 5-axis cutting principle and the software are shared across power levels, so most of the price difference comes from power, source, section range and length. The power guide explains how to choose between 12, 20 and 30 kW.
Running costs
- Electricity: mainly the laser source and chiller, rising with power.
- Assist gas: oxygen for thick carbon steel, nitrogen or compressed air for thinner sections and stainless. See assist gases in laser cutting.
- Consumables: nozzles and protective lenses, replaced as they wear.
- Maintenance: routine cleaning and calibration. See calibration before laser use.
Where the payback comes from
| Saving | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Fewer stations | Cutting, coping, beveling, drilling and marking in one setup |
| Less rework | Bevels and holes ready to weld, little grinding |
| Less steel bought | No 100–300 mm tail per bar; see zero-remnant cutting |
| Faster fit-up | Part marks and layout lines on the steel |
| Less handling | One load per bar instead of moving it between stations |

What to send for an accurate quote
- Largest section (height and flange thickness) and longest bar length.
- Materials: carbon steel, stainless, grades.
- Processes needed: copes, access holes, bevels, holes, marking.
- Monthly tonnage or bars per shift.
- Detailing software and a few sample DSTV files.
- Destination country, for shipping and installation.

Every machine has a 3-year warranty on the machine and 2 years on the laser source. PCL Group has built cutting machines in Jinan, China since 2005, with CE and FDA certification.
Questions
How much does an H-beam laser cutting machine cost?
It depends mainly on laser power, source brand, section range and bed length. Send your largest section, bar length and monthly tonnage and we quote the configuration that fits.
Is 30 kW worth it over 20 kW?
If many of your parts have thick flanges or steep bevels and you need high daily output, the extra speed can pay back. For general structures with flanges up to 40 mm, 20 kW is the usual choice.
Does the price include software?
Yes. The controller software imports DSTV, IGES and STEP files and handles bevels and marking.
What are the main running costs?
Electricity for the laser and chiller, assist gas, and consumables such as nozzles and protective lenses.
What warranty is included?
Three years on the machine and two years on the laser source.
