Plasma Arc Formation: When the machine is turned on, an electric arc is generated between the electrode and the nozzle of the torch. This electric arc ionizes the gas flowing through the torch, creating a plasma arc.

Plasma Cutting Process: The operator moves the torch along the desired cutting path, and the plasma arc is directed toward the metal surface. As the arc contacts the metal, it heats the material to a high temperature, melting it. At the same time, the compressed gas blows away the molten metal, creating a cut.
